Pediatric Ophthalmologist

Conestoga Eye seeks a full-time or part-time Pediatric Ophthalmologist with excellent clinical and surgical abilities and real people skills, to join two MD’s and two OD’s.
Conestoga Eye founded by David Silbert MD FAAP, based in Lancaster, PA, is opening a new full service location in Hershey, PA. Satellite locations include Metropolitan Harrisburg and Carlisle. We specialize in pediatric ophthalmology as well as adult and pediatric oculoplastics. The practice has been a heavy recruiter to PEDIG and participates in many commercial studies. We are growing at a rapid pace due to our unique approach to patient care. The practice is the go-to practice in the South Central, PA region for pediatric ophthalmology and oculoplastics. Our referral base is vast, and the practice has an excellent reputation among patients and referring doctors.
The main office is adjacent to the Penn Medicine-Lancaster General Health Suburban Pavilion. You will have access to a well-outfitted in-office procedure room, as well as a surgery center within walking distance, boasting state of the art equipment, including CO2 laser. Surgery is also performed at UPMC Lititz, West Shore Surgery Center in Mechanicsburg, Susquehanna Valley Surgery Center in Harrisburg and OSI in Carlisle.
Our new physician will have the full resources of the team, should they be interested in practice-based research or participating in national/local/practice studies. We are fully integrated into a user-friendly EMR. We have access to an efficient ASC with partnership opportunities. We are forward-thinking in all administrative and clinic approaches to minimize paperwork and improve efficiency. This is an outstanding opportunity for the right person.
The possibility also exists to create a mini-fellowship in adult and pediatric oculoplastic surgery for an appropriate candidate.

Optometrist

Conestoga Eye seeking a licensed Optometrist to join our team in our Lancaster, PA and Hershey, PA locations. Candidates seeking full time or part time work may apply.
Conestoga Eye is a heavily medical-based practice with Ophthalmologists specializing in Eye Plastics and Pediatric Ophthalmology. The Optometrist will be responsible for providing comprehensive eye and vision care services to patients of all ages in a clinical setting and may also be required to work occasional evenings or weekends, depending on the needs of the practice. The ideal candidate would be interested in anterior surface disease, blepharitis, dry eye as well as pediatrics with interest or experience in following amblyopia. There is also opportunity to participate in and conduct research (PEDIG and commercial studies in Pediatric ophthalmology, dry eye, eyelid etc).

Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive eye exams to diagnose vision problems and eye diseases
- Prescribe corrective lenses and other treatments as necessary
- Educate patients on proper eye care and preventative measures
- Previous experience as an optician is preferred
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as ophthalmologists and primary care physicians, to provide comprehensive care
- Stay current with advances in optometry and vision care through continuing education and professional development
- Adhere to ethical and legal standards in optometry practice
- Provide exceptional patient care and customer service
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Optometry degree from an accredited optometry school
- Current state optometry license
- Completed subspeciality fellowship preferred
- Previous experience in Pediatrics or Glaucoma care preferred
- Strong diagnostic and treatment skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented and able to maintain accurate records
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Dedication to providing exceptional patient care
